Managing Your People

I was listening to an interview with Jack Canfield, co-author of “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series.

Investing in Yourself Pays Off

This week is about investing in yourself to get the results you want to achieve. If you remember early in the year one of my personal goals was to have the arms of Michelle, the personal trainer from ‘The Biggest Loser’.

To do this I had to invest the time and money to get the results. On my own, it wasn’t enough.

Engaging in the help of Marc Stafford from Marc Stafford Health and Fitness who also trains my son, I’m on my way.

The Importance of Good Leaders

Attended my son’s first rugby league match earlier in the year.

What a difference having the right coach makes.

Last year the coach lacked people skills and basically barked commands at the boys… no wonder they didn’t listen and many left the team.

This year is the complete opposite. Trent is playing at a new club and the coach is encouraging, fair and talks to these boys with respect. The contrast is like chalk and cheese. The coach has attracted top players who have been state representatives who have joined. I wonder why?

Can You Afford To Be Busy?

Sometimes when I sit down to prepare my weekly ezine that I send to my subscribers I do get “writer’s block”.

Although I keep a file with all my stories and ideas to share with you, there are times that I have so much, that even I don’t even know where to begin.

Do you ever feel that way in your business? So much to do, heaps of ideas but where do you start? Who do you turn to?

Being a business owner it’s easy to get overwhelmed and not know which way to turn or what to do.

Become a Leader and Be Careful Who you Listen To

I referred a friend of mine to one of my clients as she had the expertise required to help this client with the nuts and bolts of her retail store. My friend visited the store and made suggestions to the owner on how she could improve the day-day running of the store, the layout, stock, staff etc.leadership

The owner was very new to the business world so coaching had been very valuable for her. Unfortunately she is surrounded by people who are not experienced in business and are very closed to new ideas.
