Be On Time and Win More Business

Have you ever arrived for an appointment at the correct time only to be told the person you are seeing is running late? I’m sure that has happened to you on many occasions. In the story I’m about to relay to you, this incident happened to one of my clients recently.

Gary and his wife arrived to see this health professional at the appointed time. The receptionist had even confirmed the time the day before. On arrival at the health clinic they were told the practitioner was running 30 minutes late. The reason being that the first appointment for the day had arrived late due to heavy traffic so consequently every other appointment was set back.

The Secret to Keeping Good People

Many business owners are disorganised and therefore time poor. They often lack not only the time, but the skills to manage their people. You cannot afford to take your eye off the ball when it comes to your people.

Recently I received a frantic call from a business owner who said one of his key empty cubicles people resigned in the last week (he only has 5 employees). To keep the business afloat he has to work all hours of the day and night to keep up with the work, until he can resolve this situation.

‘Productivity and the Opposite Sex’

Have you noticed how different the opposite sex is? (and I don’t mean physically different). You’ll find women talk, talk, talk and men tend to say as little as possible (that’s probably because they can’t get a word in if they are talking to a woman).

When I ask women in my workshops what is the biggest challenge they face when communicating with men they say they ‘don’t listen’. I ask the guys what their biggest challenge is and they say that women  ‘talk too’ much and don’t get to the point’.

Keeping in Touch

How easy it is to lose touch with people in today’s society. I attended the Send Out Cards, “Treat ‘Em Right” seminar this week and it really brought home the importance of how such a simple gesture like sending a card can make a massive difference to another human being. Sendout Cards Seminar

That’s me with two other successful businesswomen, Julie Barker from The Body Shop at Home and Bev Brough from Master Networking who also came along to the event.

‘How to Get More Clients By Working Less’

One of my personal coaching clients ‘John’ told me that now he has created more free time he can now achieve much more than ever before.

Not only is he kicking goals in his business, his wife and children are now saying “why are you home so early?”.  They’re so used to years of him coming home at 8.00 p.m. at night, tired and cranky and find it really strange that he’s in the door most nights by 6.00 p.m. in a much happier state. That 2 hour time difference has made a huge impact on his relationships.

Like many small business owners, John’s time and energy was focussed on making more
money by attracting more clients.

As I mention in my
Productivity and Profit Home Study System  the best source of business is from the clients you already have.

Unfortunately most people are too busy chasing new business to look after people who have already spent money with them.
John recognised that 90% of his business came from a specific group of clients.
